You can still lose weight and still lead a rich life if you adhere to a sensible fat loss plan. No sense in getting in great shape and getting lean if you have to sacrifice enjoying life in the process. Socializing and enjoying food and drinks with friends and family are a big part of what makes life great. It is possible for you to enjoy highly caloric food, treats and beverages at the same time you get a terrific body, as long as you do so intelligently. Here are a few tips to insure that you enjoy the best of both worlds.

Consider Your Weekly Calorie Tally, NOT Your Daily Total

Too many people are convinced that it’s the daily calories that matter. The problem with this is that it doesn’t really allow for big meals with drinks. In order to succeed, a guy would have to stick to about 1800 calories everyday if he weighs in around 180 pounds. Some tasty BBQ accompanied by chips, potato salad, dessert and cold beer will surpass the daily calorie limit in a single meal. Thus, the diet has already proven a failure.

It is Wiser to Tally Calories Eaten Over the Entire Week

Truth be told, I am not a proponent of calorie counting. But I do give credence to falling within a range of calories. If the same (180 lb) guy would follow my fat loss plan and consume 4000 calories at his party, then he should have three low calorie days total either before or after (or a combination of both) his BBQ day. Our imaginary guy has had approximately 2200 more calories than he “should” have. In this fat loss plan, he would just have to have a couple of days where he only has 1000 calories.

Questions About This Approach

Some will wonder if their metabolism will decrease if every couple of hours they aren’t eating something. This belief has been proven false in the past few years. It is also sometimes said that people will start to lost muscle unless they have substantial protein intake each day. This worry has been put to rest also. In fact, a recent study had people live on an 800 calorie diet for a few weeks and perform resistance training 3 times per week. These people did not lose any significant amount of muscle. There is no need to be concerned over a couple of days where your caloric intake is below average because it takes a long time to begin losing muscle mass.

The Only Fat Loss Plan that Allows for Social Events

Indeed, it is hard to think of any other diet plan that permits fat loss and an active social life simultaneously. All other lifestyles include leaving out favorite foods. While it will be important to implement a certain number of low calorie days, this fat loss plan will permit you to shed unwanted stores while fully enjoying the fun events of your life.
